Give and Take
It's been an interesting week around here. Things come, Things go. People come, People go. It seems as if the world is constantly shifting to maintain a balance. Some days it's almost eerie the way things work out.
For example, I got a letter in the mail the other day from a bankruptcy lawyer. When I bought my car I fronted the extra money for the service called "tires for life". The name explains it all. I got free tires and tire maintenance for as long as I owned the car. Only restrictions were I had to take it in to a VW dealership to get the work done and I had to meet the timelines for rotating and balancing the tires. No big deal. Well apparently the group that provided that service have filed for bankruptcy. Don't know what will come of it but there is a probability that I will from here on out have to buy/service my own tires. I'm going to put a call into the contact on the document next week and see what my rights really are and if there is any chance of getting atleast some of my money back. This would be the "take" side of the story.
On the "give" side, my apartment lease is up for renewal this June. The price of my apartment has increased everytime I sign a new lease. Was really not looking forward to it going up again especially with the economy where it is at the moment. On the same day I got the letter about the tire thing I got a note on my door saying that if I renew in the next 24 hours my rent would not go up. Woot! I was planning on living there at least another year until Rohan's school was decided upon so not having the rent go up was a bonus.
In the end it all balanced out. The money I'm going to lose with the tire debacle I'm going to get back in the saved rent. Things get back in balance again.
